What material are the hats made from?

Our Noggins are handcrafted from premium 100% wool felt. We’ve selected a 3mm thickness because it provides the ideal thermal barrier, insulating your head and ears for a more comfortable sauna session.

Are your Noggins OEKO-TEX® certified?

Yes. To ensure your wellness ritual is as pure as possible, every Noggin is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certified. This means our wool is free from harmful chemicals, making it safe for your skin even in the highest temperatures.

How do I clean my Noggin?

Your Noggin is a living fiber. After every session, simply rinse it with cool water and let it air dry in a warm environment. Wool is naturally antimicrobial, so it doesn't need much—just a little fresh air and water.

Can it go in the washing machine or dryer?

Never.The heat and agitation of a machine will felt the wool further, causing your Noggin to shrink. To keep the perfect fit, stick to a gentle hand-wash. 

What if my Noggin needs a repair?

We believe in keeping Noggins in the sauna, not the landfill. Every Noggin comes with our The Nordic Guarantee. If a stitch comes loose or your hat needs a little love, email us at info@nordicnoggin.ca.

We’ll provide a prepaid shipping label, hand-mend your hat, and send it back to you, refreshed and ready for more sauna sessions.

About the brand

In 2023, founder and craftsman Ben was looking for something that wasn't easy to find: a sauna hat that functioned well and didn't feel silly to wear. As a casual sauna-goer and outdoor enthusiast himself, he was passionate about creating a hat with a timeless, simple design that he would actually want to wear.

With no textile experience, Ben started making test hats for friends and family to try. People immediately loved the understated take on the traditional sauna hat, and it became clear that others wanted the benefits of wearing a sauna hat without feeling silly while doing it.

Today, Ben continues to create handcrafted sauna hats out of his home with the same goal: enhancing your sauna experience and looking good while doing it.
